PrestaShop Store Audit
A PrestaShop store can keep “working” for years while quietly losing money — and the owner only finds out once something breaks for good. An audit exists so you do not have to wait for that moment: I sit down with the store, go through it by hand and write down what is wrong, what is about to fall apart and what can be improved.
Why run a store audit?
There are usually a few reasons, and everyone knows them: the store has slowed down, the logs are turning red, payments sometimes fail, something stopped working after an update, or you simply want to be sure the foundations are solid before you put a bigger budget into advertising. Instead of guessing and digging through forums, you get one reliable diagnosis.
What I check
I go through the store by hand, not with a single scanner that spits out a list with no rhyme or reason. I look into the places where PrestaShop most often breaks or quietly loses customers:
- Errors and stability – logs, 500 and 404 errors, deprecations, module and override conflicts, the things that break “only sometimes”.
- Performance – load times, heavy database queries, cache, TTFB and whatever really slows the store down on a phone.
- Security – traces of infections and backdoors, an outdated core and modules, known vulnerabilities, file permissions, back office protection.
- The purchase path – cart, checkout, payments and shipping, plus the places where the customer gets lost or gives up.
- Database and technical details – database integrity, orphaned data, leftovers from uninstalled modules, cron jobs, configuration.
- Technical SEO – URLs and redirects, duplicates, meta tags, sitemap, indexing. One of the points, not the whole audit.
- Compliance – GDPR, the Omnibus Directive, cookies, so the store does not invite legal trouble.
What the audit looks like step by step
- Access and a short conversation – you give me access to the back office and the files and tell me what worries you. I start from your symptoms.
- Manual review – I go through the store corner by corner: code, database, logs, front end.
- A report with priorities – every problem described in plain language, split into what is on fire now and what can wait.
- A talk and a quote – we go over the most important points, and if you want, I take the fix on right away with the price agreed up front.
What you get
Not a raw dump from a tool, but a readable report:
- a list of problems described in plain terms, with a priority and an explanation of why it matters,
- specific recommendations – what to do, in what order and what is better not to touch,
- a call in which we go through the most important points,
- a quote for the fix, should you want to order it straight away.
How long it takes and what it costs
It depends on the size of the store and the number of modules – an audit of a small store on a clean theme looks different from one of a large store with dozens of modules and custom changes. The simplest way: write and tell me where you stand and what worries you, and I will come back with the scope, a date and a price.
Why me
I have been working with PrestaShop for over ten years, on stores from 1.6 to 9.x, and I write modules myself – so I know where Presta likes to break and what to look for under the hood, not just what a scanner highlights. I do not sell magic or “a 300% improvement”. I say plainly what is wrong, what to do about it and what is better left alone.
Summary
An audit is the cheapest way to find out what is really going on inside the store before it turns into a breakdown or lost sales. If something worries you, or you simply want to be sure everything is in order – write to me, I will check and tell you plainly where you stand.
