Help with AI bots and shop overload

Is your hosting reporting excessive resource usage, is your shop loading slower and slower, or does it keep going unresponsive? You do not always need to buy a more expensive server right away. First I will check the logs and the traffic on your site to establish what is actually putting it under load.

The cause may be AI bots collecting content, programs copying your offer, or automated tools querying the search function and filters. But a module, a CRON job or the database may be to blame as well. I do not assume in advance that bots cause every problem.

What can I do?

• I will check the available logs, the most frequently visited addresses and the moments of peak load.
• I will look for repeated requests, unnecessary scanning and traffic that puts excessive load on the shop.
• I will choose traffic-limiting rules: request limits, blocking of selected sources or additional verification of suspicious visits.
• Depending on your hosting, I will configure protections on the server or in Cloudflare. The availability of specific features depends on the plan you use and your permissions.
• After the changes I will check offer browsing, the cart and the agreed integrations. I will also compare the available traffic and load data.

How much does it cost?

€135–365 net, i.e. €170–450 gross with 23% VAT. This is a range for an individually defined scope of work, not a subscription price. After a preliminary check of the problem I will give you a specific amount for approval. You are not ordering a €135 service blindly.

The price depends on access to the logs, the hosting configuration, the number of sources of the problem and the scope of the changes needed. Paid Cloudflare plans, hosting and other external services are not included. Ongoing monitoring, extensive code optimization and work requiring separate anti-DDoS protection are quoted separately. If the problem goes beyond this scope, I will tell you before starting any additional work.

It is not about blocking everything

The shop must stay available to customers, search engines and the integrations it needs. That is why I choose rules based on the observed traffic, not on a bot's name alone. A robots.txt entry by itself is not a protection against a program that ignores it.

I do not promise to block all bots or to make you immune to every attack. The goal is to reduce unwanted traffic and load without making purchases harder. Blocking AI tools may also limit those tools' access to your shop's content; we will decide which ones you want to allow.

What to send for a quote?

Provide the shop address, the name of your hosting, the system you use, and a description of when the problem appears. A message from your hosting provider or a screenshot of the load chart will be useful. Also tell me whether you already use Cloudflare.

Do not send passwords or full logs through the form. If access or data from the server is needed, we will agree on a secure way to hand it over.
