Which Hosting to Choose for PrestaShop 1.7 and 1.6
Which hosting to choose for PrestaShop 1.7 and 1.6? Anyone thinking of setting up an online store on an open CMS such as PrestaShop or WooCommerce
Which hosting should you choose for PrestaShop? Anyone thinking of setting up an online store on an open CMS such as PrestaShop or WooCommerce asks themselves this question. The first thing we think about is choosing the right hosting. After all, this is where we will keep the infrastructure of our e-business. What is hosting? In short: the files and the database of our store are kept on the hosting. We described what hosting is in more detail here.
We have worked professionally with PrestaShop since 2012 and have got to know many companies offering to keep our files on their servers. We have our own experience and will try to present how the situation looks and guide you towards choosing the best hosting available in Poland, answering the question of which hosting to choose for PrestaShop 1.7 and 1.6.
New companies offering file hosting services on the internet are springing up like mushrooms after rain, but which basic (shared) server should you choose for PrestaShop?
Before we discuss shared servers, it is worth mentioning what they really are. Shared servers are servers shared among the customers of a given hosting provider. On one server there is your account and the accounts of other customers/owners of websites. You can easily check your neighbourhood by entering your own domain address at this link.
The beginnings
We started out with AZ, and unfortunately we cannot recommend it for a PrestaShop store: right from the start you run into problems during installation, and the speed of the servers, even outside peak hours, leaves a lot to be desired.

The big three
We do not recommend the servers of the “big three”, that is AZ, Home and Nazwa. If someone insists on choosing from these 3 well-known companies, then, as the lesser evil, we recommend choosing Nazwa. Remember, too, that the biggest problem with shared servers is peak hours. By peak hours we mean the period when the most people sit down to browse the internet: roughly from 3-4 p.m. to 8-9 p.m. Then your site and your neighbours’ sites are besieged by users, which can slow the server down significantly when loading pages.A PrestaShop server for up to €23
We host many of our own early projects on the servers of Kylos. Here, using the discount code you get for liking their fan page on Facebook, we can knock off another 10% of the price. With the right PrestaShop configuration, we can achieve a first page load time of up to 2 s outside peak hours, for a store with 500 products. During peak hours the time is from 3 s to even 5 s. These are only the main points; everything depends on our neighbours. One client asked us to pick a cheap server, happened to land among very friendly neighbours and does not notice peak hours, and has been with them for over 2 years. With a clear conscience we can recommend the server from MyDevil, which is where we send our clients. Good support, and we have had 2 servers for a year, and even peak hours have only a negligible effect on the performance of stores, both smaller ones and larger ones with more than 1500 products. An advantage of this hosting provider is its servers with SSD disks. This significantly affects the speed of stores with a large database. Orders/customers/products and much more information are kept in databases, which, in large numbers, slows things down on ordinary disks. At MyDevil, buying a higher package increases not only the disk space, but also the RAM limit and the maximum number of system processes. Another asset is the ability to generate an SSL certificate for our domain for free. For stores with up to 500 products we recommend the MD1 package Between 500 and 1000 products, MD2 Above 1000, MD3/MD4 Link: MyDevil.net If we have helped you choose a hosting provider, set us as your referrer (our code is G6HG5MWKJE).Hitme
The hosting company Hitme which we have only recently started testing and so far have good opinions of. Server time and responses are normal. We bought the account recently, so we cannot yet see fully how it will work once other customers have bought all the places on the machine. From the reviews we can conclude that it will be similar to MyDevil and that we will not notice a difference during peak hours. Hitme also has SSD servers. Linuxpl has been taken over by the H88 group, and for now we do not know how the new owner will manage the service. We just hope they will maintain a high standard and server performance. Time will verify all of this, and I hope we will add it to our list soon.Cyber Folks
Update. We have been testing Cyber folks (formerly linuxpl.com) for half a year now and, in short... we are delighted with their hosting service for PrestaShop! We felt a big difference after moving a client’s large store to ps_FLY and enabling their Cyber Boost module. If we were to break the module down into smaller ones and buy them from developers, it would come to well over 300 euro. In their module, which you get free of charge at the start in the hosting price:- A module that automatically converts image files to .webp – as suggested by the strict Google PageSpeed Insights. The cost of such a module is about 150 euro on the PrestaShop marketplace.
- It relieves our store and switches off unnecessary statistics modules, since most of us use Google Analytics anyway
- Optimises the database periodically or at the click of a button. (cost 80 euro)
- Automatically configures LiteSpeed Cache! (cost 100 euro).
- Free SSL certificate
- and many other useful features.
